INSPIRATION - we have some really exciting new design developments planned for release next month, and as we prepare to launch our new Blossom collection, alongside a new version of our Pedicel Wall Light (now cast in solid Bronze), we've been looking back over our design archives.

Our collection has been developed in a very organic way, with new designs being added every year over the last 15 years since we launched, and older designs refined and developed over time.

There is one very obvious theme that emerges when reviewing our design archives - our founder Harriet Daniels' inspiration definitely comes from working with metal! Each piece in our collection has a strong element of hand-worked metal of various different types. Since very early in her career, Harriet has found metal to be an endless form of inspiration!

Case in point - our iconic Stem Chandelier, shown here with Lattice shades - delicate metal leaf-pattern lattices encasing slubby silk shdes.

DARK BRONZE FINISH - many of our designs feature our signature hand-grained metalwork with a dark oxidised bronze finish.

This unique finish is built up in several layers, the uppermost of which is hand-linished to reveal a glimpse of the layers underneath.

The result is a beautiful lustre with depth and substance that adds a sense of timeless beauty to each piece.

Paired here with snowy white alabaster in our Compass Chandelier for a sophisticated monochrome palette.

ON THE WORKBENCH - the team are checking through our cast brass “leaf” details, which have just been oxidized to produce our dark Bronze finish. These lovely little details adorn our Alabaster collection. The repeating pattern they create when laid out on the bench is really pleasing to the eye- inspiration is everywhere!
